Day 1

As the flight lasts in Tribhuvan International airport, you’ll arrive in Kathmandu; the capital city of Nepal. You will find our representative waiting for you outside the airport after your arrival. After that, they'll pick you up and drop you off at your hotel.
Day 2
Trek Preparation Day and Sightseeing
Trek Preparation Day and Sightseeing
This day gives you time for verifying the precheck list of your trek and going last-minute shopping if you’re missing something. Also, after doing all these, you can go sightseeing to historic places around Kathmandu like Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath (The Monkey Temple), Durbar Square, and Boudhanath.
Day 3
Flight From Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and Drive to Illam (1000m)
Flight From Kathmandu to Bhadrapur and Drive to Illam (1000m)
You will begin your journey with an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Bhadrapur. Don’t forget to enjoy the aerial scenic view of the valley and surrounding hills & mountains. From there, you will again take a private jeep to Illam and stay at the lodge for an overnight stay.
Day 4
Drive to Taplejung and Trek to Mitlung (921m)
Drive to Taplejung and Trek to Mitlung (921m)
You will begin the day with a five-hour-long drive to Taplejung. On the way, you will pass via beautiful villages like Phidim. After reaching Taplejung, you will begin your walk to Mitlung. Fully enjoy the view of mid-hills and gorgeous farmlands of wheat, tea, cardamom, coffee there.
Day 5

Trek to Chirwa (1270m)
You will begin the walk via narrow paths within the deep & green forest. While you’re on your track, you will pass via settlements like Sinuwa, Tawa, and Porke. After walking for about 6-7 hours, you will reach Chirwa. Overnight at a lodge in Chirwa!

Leaving Chirwa, you will make your way to villages called Lelep, Taplethok, Hello, and Tamewa. On the way, you’ll come across the Simbuwa river that originated from Yalung glacier. Upon walking for about 6-7 hours, you’ll reach Sekathum; a Tibetan village.

Now, the walk starts having mixed trails of uphills & downhills. You will pass via semi-plains of Ghunsa Khola and scenic settlements of Ghaiyabri & Solima. After about 7 hours, you will reach another beautiful Tibetan village; Amjilossa, for a tented overnight stay.

You will start walking on the flat trail and then follow an uphill climb to reach Gyabla. On your way, you pass via diverse lands and forests rich in rhododendron, orchids, and brown oak. You can enjoy a lovely panorama from Gyabla as well.
Day 9

Another exciting day of your trek begins. You start by crossing a suspension bridge over Gunsa river and varied farmlands. You will also meet welcoming locals at Phole village. After a couple of uphill & downhill, you will reach Ghunsa. The village is also the capital of the Kanchenjunga region where the basic food & accommodation facility is available.

After a continuous six days of walking, you will need daybreak for sure. The break will also help you acclimatize and adapt to the level of oxygen there. While you take a break, you can visit nearby ridges and explore local monasteries.

Trek From Ghunsa to Khambachen (4050m)

Leaving Ghunsa, you will head to Khambachen. Khambachen is also a small Tibetan settlement where you can view peaks like North Jaanu (7710m) and Jaanu glacier.

As the altitude rises dramatically along the route, you will need more days to acclimatize. This way, you can avoid the chance of getting altitude sickness. And Khambachen is another perfect place to take a day’s break and explore the amazing surroundings. From there, you can catch beautiful glimpses of Kanchenjunga, Khanbour, Nango Ma, and Jannu mountains.
Day 13
Khambachen to Lhonak (4500m)
Khambachen to Lhonak (4500m)
You will keep on continuing with gaining altitude. Following the upward slopes, you will also pass the northwest Morain of Kanchenjunga Glacier. After 5-6 hours, you will arrive at the high campsite of Lhonak. The view of Mera Peak, Nepal Peak, Wedges Peaks appears amazing from here.

Trek to Pangpema/Kanchanjunga Northern Base Camp (5140m)

It’s one of the major days of your Kanchenjunga trek. You will head to Kanchenjunga Northern Base Camp via Pangpema. From the top, you’ll have a clear and close view of Mt Kanchenjunga and many northern glaciers. Overnight at the base camp!
Day 15

Leaving the northern base camp, you will now head to the southern base camp of Kanchenjunga. On the way, you will witness more glaciers; Kanchenjunga and Kumbhakarna. This day, you will camp at Ghunsa for an overnight stay.
Day 16
Trek to High Camp (4100m)

As you head to High Camp, you will pass via the most challenging stretch of the trek. You will pass via high passes including Sele La Pass (4290m). After around six hours of strenuous trek, you will reach High Camp. You can thoroughly enjoy the amazing view of Jannu, Tamachunggi, and Mount Makalu from there.
Day 17
Trek to Tseram (3800m) via Mirgin La Pass

This day is yet another exciting and challenging part of the trek. The stretch continues with passing high ridges like Mirgin La Pass, Lapsang La Pass, Sine Laplace La, and Sinion La. From the top of these passes, you will view the breathtaking scenery of more mountains like Yalung, Makalu-Barun, and Kabru. Overnight at Tseram!

After Tseram, your next stop will be Ramche. You will reach Ramche via Oktang, which is a major part of the southern base camp of Kanchenjunga. The glaciers like Kumbhakarna and peaks like Rothang & Kabru are the highlights of this day. Overnight at Ramche!

After a series of ascent and gaining high altitude, you will now begin descending. The path mostly consists of several forested trails and farmlands. You will come across places like Lapsang, Anda Phedi. There, you can enjoy the lovely environment with dense forests, streams, ponds, monasteries, and waterfalls. Overnight at Tortong!

Another day of descent begins as you head to Yamphudin. The trails take you across the shore of Simbua river, Amji Khola, and Imja Khola. On the way, you can also enjoy the variety of flora & fauna at Lasiya Bhanjyang and Dhupi Bhanjyang. You will reach Yamphudin after walking for about seven hours.

Now, the next stop for your trek is Mamanke again following the narrow alleys downhill. The downhill can get tricky at some spots so you have to be careful. Overnight at Mamanke after walking for five-six hours.
Day 22
Trek to Kesuwa (2100m)

Leaving Mamanke, you will continue your way to settlements like Ponphe village. Also, you will be crossing some edgy suspension bridges witnessing the amazing Himalayan vistas. You will reach Kesuwa after walking for 5-6 hours and stay there for the night.
Day 23
Trek to Lalikharka (2200m)
Trek to Lalikharka (2200m)
On this day, you will pass via a Limbu village called Khanjari. From there, you will then head to Lalikharaka crossing Pha Khola and Phumphe Danda. Overnight at a lovely camping site at Lalikharka witnessing amazing scenery.
Day 24

This day, you will trek downhill for about 3-4 hours and reach Taplejung. Basically, you will just retrace your steps via Shimu and Thenbewa village. Upon reaching Taplejung, you can either stay at a local guest house or continue with tented camping.

Drive Back to Bhadrapur

After more than two weeks of walking, your trekking journey finally comes to an end. So, now you’ll be returning and retracing your way back. Hence, on this day, you will go for an 11 hours of drive to get back to Bhadrapur.

Flight Back to Kathmandu

Now, from Bhadrapur, you will take an early morning flight to Kathmandu. After you’re back in the city, you are fully free to explore around. The choice is all yours.
