Day 1
Arrival Day in Kathmandu

Welcome upon your arrival to the city of temples. You will receive a warm welcome at the Tribhuvan International Airport. You will then check-in to your hotel and get a detailed plan of your trek. You will get your permits this day and meet fellow travelers, guides, and porters. Make sure to bring necessary documents like passport, copies of photos, travel insurance policy, etc

 Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Exploration
Trek Preparation and Kathmandu Valley Exploration
You’ll have a full day exploring Kathmandu Valley. On this trip, you will visit UNESCO enlisted World Heritage sites. It includes Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swayambhunath, and Boudhanath. Not to forget this is also your prep day. You need to be ready for your journey the next day. Thus, pack your bags with all the necessary stuff and gears. If you are missing something, then you can buy them from hubs like Thamel.
Day 3
 Flight/Trek to Phaplu and Trek to Japre (2920m)

You will begin your journey early in the morning. After a quick breakfast, you will either take a ride or a flight to Phaplu. It would take about half an hour. Then, you will drive towards Dhap, from where you’ll begin your trek. On your way to japre, you will witness the Numbur Himal section. The trail also takes you to villages like Sigane, famous for lovely views of Himalayas and gompas.

You will begin your journey by climbing up the forested ridge at Bhulbhule. You can view some fantastic scenery from its top. Then, you will head your way towards Pikey Base Camp. This spot is famous for ancient mani stone walls and settlements belonging to old yak herders.

It is going to be a great day as you start climbing to the top of Pikey Peak. The view of sunrise from there is just fantastic. Also, you will enjoy the dreamy panorama of surrounding peaks like the Annapurna and Kanchenjunga range. Afterward, you will trek down, have your lunch, and head to Taktor for a night stay. On this typical pathway, you will encounter the trail of Everest Base Camp coming from Jiri.

 Trek to Junbesi Village (2675m)

Another day of Dudh Kunda Pikey trek begins from Taktor to Junbesi village. Junbesi is a traditional Sherpa settlement that flaunts distinctive Sherpa culture and architecture. Here, you can visit many Buddhist monasteries and sacred places. You will also be close to Nepal-Tibet Border and have a classic experience around the suburbs.

This part of your journey will take you to a special part of the region; Thubten Choling Monastery. This extraordinary creation flaunts culture & artistic richness and is home to more than 800 monks. There are many small gompas within its area along with tiny cottages for their stay. You will recreate a lovely moment here as the pure serenity of this amazing monastery will capture your heart & soul.

This day is going to be filled with gradual ascends through beautiful alpine forests. As you keep on continuing, you might be the victim of Altitude Sickness. So, you need to be careful and follow necessary precautions. You will continue along the rocky trails to reach Yak Kharka. You will be welcomed by a beautiful range of mountains en route.

Leaving Yak Kharka, you will head to Saharbensi early in the morning after a quick breakfast. It is going with a long day as you will walk for 6-7 hours. The view of snow-capped mountains and ridges start getting better and clearer. You will pass Pare Danda on the way which is a famous grassland with fantastic scenery. Overnight at Saharbesi!

Finally comes the day where you will meet your ultimate destination; Dudh Kunda. Dudh Kunda is a beautiful lake that lies on the foot of Mt. Lumbur and Karyalung glacier. This spiritual lake is believed to be the home of Lord Shiva. Also, this pristine lake holds religious value in Buddhism too. Thus, on major religious days like the full moon of August, you can expect a lot of visitors here.

The area around Dudh Kunda has some good viewpoints and small temples. In the morning, you can visit those places and start a refreshing day. You can also witness the admirable sunrise if you wake up early. After you finish exploring this place, you will bid goodbye to Dudh Kunda and retrace your steps to Yak Kharka.

Bidding goodbye to Yak Kharka, you will again start descending towards the trail filled with pine, rhododendrons, and orchids. You will reach Thadarbug first, have your lunch, and then head to Taksindo La. Taksindo La is a great viewpoint with an elegant ancient monastery, gompas, and grasslands.
Day 13
Trek From Takshindo La to Phaplu (2469m)

Here comes the final day of your Dudh Kunda Pikey Trek. As you continue, you will leave the main trekking route and walk down through alpine areas. You can encounter Chiwong Gumba on your way. You can have a final look towards the whole Dudh Kunda valley. After walking for five hours, you reach Phaplu. If you wish, you can visit Salleri, the headquarter of Solukhumbu District. You can enjoy shopping around its big and unique markets.
Day 14
Flight From Phaplu to Kathmandu
Flight From Phaplu to Kathmandu
You will return to Kathmandu via a flight. Like you experienced before, you can enjoy this scenic flight above the elevated ridges and floating clouds. You also have the option to cut the flight and take a ride back. But if you want to spend more time in Kathmandu, the latter option might not be feasible.
